Corinth
A Fire & Fury scenario from the Great Western Battles book. The Union are defending the town against a heavy Rebel assault. The Rebs want to capture the town. This is a two day scenario which we played out over successive weeks. The first day sees the assault on the outer works (seen set up here), and the second day is the assault on the inner works and the town. Another tight game.
View from the Rebel start line. As can be seen, the Union left is in the air a bit and that is where the Rebs hit them. The only trouble is, most of the table is woods - the cleared areas are marked using hedges & fences (I know hedges weren't too common on ACW battelfields, but wood edges need to be marked somehow and I ran out of snake fencing). Stanley's big Union division is in reserve in the right distance. The building on its own is the College, and in the far left distance is the town of Corinth.
Here we see the view looking straight down the middle of the Union position. Three brigades in double line are supported by a couple of artillery batteries.
