Antietam (southern half)

A Fire & Fury scenario from the Great Eastern Battles book. The Union must get some troops into Sharpsburg to allow most of their units to move. The Rebs must try to stop them with a small force which is reinforced. A cracking game.

View from the North, looking down Antietam creek. The Union guns line the hills on the left, and the bulk of the Union force is deployed in the middle distance. The Confederate defenders are lined up over on the right. That strange pale patch in the left background is the sun, for those of you with underground wargame rooms.

View from behind the Union lines looking towards the Rebel position. Sharpsburg can be seen in the right background. Toombs' Georgians (who held the bridge in the morning) are dimly visible on the hill in the left background.
